The Ministry of Agriculture published the National List of substances allowed for the production of organic food, which helps to guarantee the integrity of the products that reach consumers' homes.
The National List is aligned with international regulations that apply to the production of organic food of plant, livestock and aquaculture origin and makes available to producers the inputs they require for the development of this economic activity, which opens the doors of international markets to small and medium-sized producers.
The Agreement, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF, by its Spanish acronym), promotes progress in harmony with the different regulatory frameworks in the area of organic products, which expedites the certification process under the Organic Products Law (LPO, by its Spanish acronym), granted by Senasica.
It is worth mentioning that the instrument strengthens the equivalent national control system for organic, biological and ecological production, and also favors food exports to the most demanding markets, such as the European Union, the United States of America and Canada.
