As  he delivered the Mexican Navy Advanced Training Center facilities, President Enrique Peña Nieto declared today that, “In defense of our sovereignty, in the fight against threats to our security and in responding to disaster, the Mexican Army and Navy have shown their courage and commitment”.

The Training Center delivered today, with 90 hectares for acquiring skills, discipline and capacity, and training to assume the tasks entrusted to it, places the Mexican Navy at the forefront of naval training.

He noted that during this administration, “The Mexican Navy has played an active role and assumed greater responsibility in national development. This has been the case, because Mexicans have placed greater trust in our Armed Forces: during this Administration we have asked Mexican marines to assume the functions of the national maritime authority, and today the operation and administration of Port Authorities, the registration and flagging of vessels, the control of maritime traffic and the inspection and certification of vessels, are the responsibility of the Navy Secretariat”.
