Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu and the Mexican diplomatic delegation that accompanied
her in Washington, D.C., ended their
trip with a bilateral meeting with U.S.
Secretary of State John Kerry.
They discussed the need to keep working to encourage
innovation, entrepreneurship and the development
of human capital in order to make the North American region more
competitive. They also agreed it was important to hold the trilateral North American Foreign Ministers’ meeting in early 2016.
Other topics addressed included climate change, migration and
the fight against the drug problem, among other issues on which Mexico and
the United States shared priorities and values.
