Earlier this afternoon, President Enrique Peña Nieto received US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly.
The meeting comes at a time when it is very important to strengthen dialogue.
Dialogues and agreements will be undertaken with the will of both governments and respect for the sovereignty of both countries.
The Mexican government will negotiate integrally with a strong position and in favor of Mexico’s interests.
The protection of Mexicans in the United States and respect for their rights is one of the Mexican government’s highest priorities.
President Peña Nieto said that the presence of the two secretaries in Mexico at this early stage of President Donald Trump’s administration, “reflects the interest in building a positive relationship that will provide better conditions of security, development and prosperity for Mexico and the United States”.
