• In order to vote from abroad in Mexico’s 2024 elections, you must register on the votoextranjero.mx website.
  • The National Electoral Institute (INE) has extended the registration deadline to February 25, 2024.
  • The number of electronic ballots available for unregistered individuals to vote in person at one of the 23 consulates where this is available has been increased to 1,500.

This Thursday, February 15, the National Electoral Institute (INE) agreed to extend the deadline for Mexican citizens abroad to register to vote in the 2024 elections. The new registration deadline is February 25, 2024.

If you live abroad and have a valid voter registration card issued in Mexico or abroad, go to votoextranjero.mx and choose one of the three ways to vote:

  • Online
  • By mail
  • In person (at select locations)

In-person voting will be available at Mexican consulates and embassies in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New Brunswick, New York, Oklahoma, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Ana, Seattle, Washington D.C., Montreal, Madrid and Paris.

The INE will also increase to 1,500 the number of electronic ballots available for unregistered individuals who vote in person at one of the 23 consulates where this is available, after presentation of a valid voter registration card issued in Mexico or abroad.
