• Improved service for international travelers arriving at the Mexico City International Airport
  • The Consuls General of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay joined the tour.
  • The tour followed up on a first visit made on March 16 to Terminal 1.

As part of the ongoing improvements to service for international travelers arriving at the Mexico City International Airport, officials from the National Migration Institute and Foreign Ministry, accompanied by the Consuls Generals of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay, toured the Terminal 2 immigration facilities.

During the tour, both agencies addressed the consuls' questions and concerns about cases in which their citizens are refused entry with absolute transparency. They toured the areas used for secondary inspections of international visitors, verifying that they were in good condition with regard to hygiene, ventilation and safety.

The INM explained that it is ensuring safe, orderly and regular immigration procedures that are fully in line with Mexico's immigration law and regulations, and with the principle of respecting human rights.

This tour, which follows up on the first visit conducted on March 16, reaffirms the commitment of both Mexican institutions to achieving concrete results when addressing the problems some foreigners have faced when going through immigration at the airport.
