At the second International Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy, held in The Hague, Netherlands, on November 1-2, it was announced that Mexico would host the conference in 2024.

Mexico was the first country in the Global South to adopt a feminist foreign policy (FFP), in recognition of the need to accelerate efforts to achieve gender equality.

The second conference in The Hague was attended by government and civil society representatives, feminist movements, foundations, the private sector and international organizations. They discussed the progress made and challenges to consolidating feminist foreign policies as a means of advancing the gender equality agenda.

The Hague Conference was preceded by a ministerial event held on September 20 in New York during the UN General Assembly High-level Week, at which Foreign Secretary Alicia Bárcena discussed the priority she gives to the effective implementation of a feminist foreign policy as a transformative instrument for equality.

The next Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy will be held in Mexico, against the backdrop of the country's renewed commitment to including its FFP in all policies and aspects of Mexican diplomacy.
