The Government of Mexico is closely following events in Venezuela as they unfold and expresses its concern about the possibility of escalating violence and bloodshed as a result of this situation.
Mexico reiterates its commitment and desire to find a peaceful, democratic resolution to this crisis through dialogue, with a focus on unconditional respect for human rights. The Foreign Ministry is consulting with the other sixteen countries that make up the Montevideo Mechanism in order to agree on a common course.
