In celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Israel, the Embassy of Israel in Mexico, Foreign Ministry, Matias Romero Institute and Foreign Ministry Museum are proud to present the commemorative exhibition "70 years of Mexico-Israel Diplomatic Relations."

The exhibition highlights the depth and breadth of the collaboration and friendship between the two countries. About 30 photographic panels help visitors travel through time to see key moments and individuals in the diplomatic relationship between Mexico and Israel from 1952 to the present day.

The panels are chronological, so that visitors can clearly understand the evolution of the relationship and deep friendship between the two countries. Among the highlights are the humanitarian actions carried out by the Israel Defense Forces National Rescue Unit following the 1985 and 2017 earthquakes, and Israel's participation in iconic Mexican events such as the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL).

Also represented are reciprocal visits of presidents, ministers and diplomats from both countries, the signing of the Mexico-Israel Free Trade Agreement, and the Israeli Soccer Team that participated in the 1970 World Cup.

Today's inauguration was led by Israeli Ambassador to Mexico Zvi Tal; Jose Octavio Tripp, Director General for Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East at the Foreign Ministry; and Matias Romero Institute Director General Alejandro Alday. The officials highlighted the friendship and fraternal ties that unite both nations and their peoples, and the desire to take the relationship to the next level.

The Embassy of Israel in Mexico and the Matias Romero Institute extend a cordial invitation to all those interested in history and international relations to visit the exhibition and join in the celebration of seven decades of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Israel.

The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday, June 16 through August 19, 2023, Monday through Saturday, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, with last admission at 4:30 pm. Admission is free.

The Foreign Ministry Museum is located at República de El Salvador 47 in Mexico City’s Historic Center.
