The Mexican government mourns the deaths of the individuals who were abandoned inside a trailer in San Antonio, Texas. So far, nine people are known to have died and others have been hospitalized, some in critical condition.
Mexico's consulate in San Antonio is working closely with local and federal authorities, hospitals and coroners to learn the victims' nationalities and to provide the necessary consular protection and assistance, including the repatriation of the remains of Mexican victims, if any.
It has also asked the authorities for a thorough investigation into the event to find those responsible and will assist with any related legal proceedings.
