The Foreign Ministry gave naturalization certificates to 100 people from different countries who met the requirements established by Mexican law to voluntarily acquire this tie with our nation.

The ceremony was headed by the Foreign Secretary's Chief of Staff, Abraham Zamora Torres; the Director General of Consular Services, Ambassador Olga Beatriz García Guillén; and the Director General of Legal Affairs, Rosario Elena Graham Zapata, who congratulated the new citizens for choosing Mexico as their homeland and reaffirmed our country's belief that immigration contributes to society's development and prosperity.

In her remarks, Rosario Elena Graham Zapata welcomed the new citizens, saying that Mexico receives them with respect and admiration. She called on them to continue strengthening the multiculturalism that makes our nation so strong.

Abraham Zamora Torres greeted the new Mexicans and reaffirmed the commitment of the Mexican government to serve and provide protection to the new citizens. He urged them to exercise their rights and fulfill their duties.

Ambassador Olga Beatriz García Guillén read the charter of principles and values of the individuals who acquire Mexican nationality, which include equality, inclusion, identity, commitment, respect, diversity, loyalty and non-discrimination.

A Navy escort and band accompanied the new citizens as they saluted the flag during the ceremony.
