The Friends of Monterrey Retreat is being held at the Foreign Ministry from January 28-29. The event, hosted by the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), brings together more than 100 government officials and representatives from international organizations, the private sector and civil society.

The discussion will focus on international financing for development and how to achieve the global targets agreed on in international forums such as the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD3), the 2030 Agenda and COP 21 (Conference of the Parties on the Convention on Climate Change).

Mexico actively participates in defining and implementing a global agenda by creating synergies that provide opportunities for forging agreements. Forums such as this one reaffirm Mexico’s role as an actor with global responsibility that is committed to sustainable development.
