In order to protect food production and diversify agricultural markets for Mexican products, specialists from Senasica and the national productive sector work hand in hand to strengthen sanitary and safety measures in vegetable and meat production, processing and packaging units.
These tasks are carried out within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement entered into by the heads of the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Agricultural Council (CNA, by its Spanish acronym) in November 2020, which establishes a series of joint actions to boost the competitiveness of Mexican farmers, ranchers, fishermen and fish farmers.
In analyzing the results of the working groups on plant and animal health, both delegations agreed on the importance of protecting food production in order to supply Mexican families with healthy and safe products, as well as to promote the competitiveness of producers and thus trigger development in rural communities in the country.
They ratified their commitment to promote the opening of markets for the export of vegetable products such as avocado, strawberries, mango, peppers and asparagus to Asian countries such as South Korea, Japan, China and Malaysia, as well as beef and pork products to China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
