In the framework of International Pork Day, Senasica signed a Work Plan with the Organization of Mexican Pork Producers (Opormex, by its Spanish acronym), through which joint actions are strengthened in the area of inspection and verification of goods at ports, airports and borders, as well as at verification and federal inspection points regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The document endorses the alliance that both organizations have maintained for more than three years, which has been strategic to prevent the entry into the country of African swine fever (ASF), which has been present in the Dominican Republic and Haiti since 2021.

With this Work Plan, Opormex is committed to maintain and reinforce the collaboration with the phytosanitary and zoosanitary inspection tasks carried out by Senasica and in terms of food safety in strategic points of the country, through authorized third parties and canine binomials, with the purpose of strengthening the protection of the country's agri-food heritage and food safety.

It should be emphasized that the work carried out by authorized third parties is performed in coordination with the official personnel assigned to the Agricultural Health Inspection Offices (OISA, by its Spanish acronym), who carry out the inspection, verification and certification of goods regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture on ships and commercial and private airplanes, as well as the verification of tourist luggage.
