In the framework of World Nutrition Day, Senasica joined the call of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the collection of non-perishable food, which will be destined to the Food Bank Network, which supports millions of Mexican families in vulnerable situations.
From June 1 to 23, a collection center will be set up on the first floor of Senasica's headquarters building, where the agency's personnel and the general public can make their donations.
The collection also seeks to contribute to the Mexican Government's programs aimed at combating malnutrition and food insecurity among Mexicans.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Food Bank Network and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), bagged and canned foods are being received, such as rice and beans in one-kilogram packages, one-liter vegetable oil, as well as canned tuna in cans and envelopes.
The Mexican Food Bank Network has been operating in Mexico for 27 years, through 53 branches in 29 Mexican states.
