Did you know that this January 5th marks the 30th anniversary of the enactment of the Federal Plant Health Law?
That's right, this instrument has been decisive for Senasica to regulate and coordinate actions for the prevention, control and eradication of pests and plant diseases and thus ensure that healthy and safe food reaches the Mexican people's tables.
We carry out this work in coordination with state governments, auxiliary agencies and the producers themselves, in order to ensure the greatest efficiency of human and economic resources.
Senasica has formed a state-of-the-art technical team that applies scientific knowledge to monitor and prevent the entry of more than a thousand pests and diseases not present in Mexico and to combat 19 endemic pests of quarantine interest, including the Central American locust, the fruit fly, the pink mealybug and the regulated pests of agave, cotton, avocado and citrus.
