In Boca del Rio, Veracruz, the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer Varela, pointed out the commitment of the Government of Mexico to free the Mexicans from a health system that profits from the disease and agony, and made it clear that the right to health, is for all people throughout their lives.

Before the governor of the entity, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, sanitary authorities of the country and the Technical Secretary of CONASA, María Eugenia Lozano Torres, the federal official highlighted the role of CONASA in the Fourth Transformation project, as a translating agency for the project of health, which will serve as an instrument to consolidate an integrating system avoiding the segmentation of health.

"We are convinced of this renewed willingness to move towards a unified and strong health system, rooted in the person, the family and the population."

In the inaugural declaration, Alcocer Varela said that currently we are standing in a sector where there are very strong interests that resist change. He emphasized that corruption is in many areas: in the purchase of drugs, in their distribution, in the delivery of supplies and in services, among others.

He warned that sooner or later it will end up putting limits to corruption, many know it and it terrifies them. Thus, with comings and goings, we move forward, making us aware of our limits and our possibilities.

The federal official described the work carried out by the three advisory commissions in the field of Public Health, Analysis of Economic Problems and Training and Training Needs, which allow us to know where we are standing.

In his message, the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, referred to the progress achieved as with the operation of eight new health centers and shared his experience in the fight against corruption that was reported in the purchase of medicines.

He pointed out that - with an investment of 430 million pesos - he managed to reduce the shortage by up to 90 percent, due to the strategy of seeking the best prices in 14 pharmaceutical companies. In that sense, it coincided with the decision of the Federal Government to make consolidated purchases because it allows better prices and expands access to medicines.

On behalf of the 32 state health authorities, the Secretary of Health of Quintana Roo, Alejandra Aguirre Crespo, endorsed the commitment to work as a team, in a collegial manner, to transform the Mexican national system together, and called on their counterparts to act with a adequate and transparent management of resources.

She stressed the importance of generating far-reaching policies and reducing the inequality gaps in the health field. He acknowledged the work of the Federal Health Secretary, for taking a reformist vision to generate the provision of services in public health institutions.

Finally, she resumed the intention of the federal government to aspire to a health system similar to that of Denmark or Canada, that is, to a public and plural system that guarantees universal access to comprehensive quality services. "The challenge is high, but not impossible. It involves building an architecture with high levels of financial protection, advancing legal coverage and improving the organizational structure of the Mexican health system.

At the same time, the Secretary of Health of Veracruz, Roberto Ramos Alor, expressed his confidence that the meeting will allow transition to a fair and quality health system, democratic and inclusive for Mexicans and Mexicans.
