In Tlaxcala a state of Mexico was presented the program health in your school. It is the first entity to announce this strategy that the next school year will be in operation in 13 states of the Mexican Republic.
With Health in your School, we will work in a coordinated way and in unity between the three levels of government, federal, state and municipal, together with teachers, students and parents, to prevent diseases, risk behaviors and addictions, as well as counteract pregnancy in girls and adolescents
The scheme includes about 400 thousand students from urban and rural areas, from almost two thousand schools in Mexico City, Durango, Michoacán, Morelos, Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tlaxcala, Jalisco, Campeche and Yucatan.
It is part of the new educational model, so that children receive education for freedom, creativity and health, tools with which they will know the risks of diseases such as overweight and obesity.
In the presentation of Health in your School, where Mexico´s minister of health, José Narro Robles had an interactive talk with primary students, he stressed: "the doors of a school, are the doors of a house, a house of knowledge, a house of the health, a house of unity, a house of intelligence and values ".
Also delivered the package of Health in your school includes educational games, basketball, jump rope and leaflets on how to stay hydrated, how to feed properly and assessment of hydration.
