President Enrique Peña Nieto, opened the “Mexico, World Heritage” hall in the National Palace.
This is a permanent exhibition space consisting of a multimedia show in the 400 meters of the hall displaying the 41 cultural and natural heritage sites of our country, eight of which are intangible.
The exhibition will be open permanently and allow Mexicans and foreign visitors to be more aware of the cultural and natural wealth of Mexico at the National Palace, the seat of the executive power and home of all Mexicans.
Mexico has the sixth largest number of World Heritage sites worldwide and the largest number in Latin America.
Besides being an interactive and multimedia exhibition, it is unusual because it is a chronological journey, ranging from the first explosions that led to the Pinacate Reserve (natural heritage) to the cultural expressions of the 20th century and Casa Luis Barragán and Ciudad Universitaria.
This exhibition shows that our country has been present at every moment of the world’s natural and cultural development.
