Expressing the Mexican government’s strong condemnation of the unfortunate, tragic events that took place today in Brussels, Belgium, President Enrique Peña Nieto said that, "”Terrorism cannot be the route or path of support for any cause.”

For the Mexican government and president, “The use of terrorism and violence to benefit any cause is unacceptable,” he said.

Mexico’s government “strongly condemns these terrorist acts,” and expresses its solidarity with the families of those who unfortunately lost a loved one in these events.

During the commemoration of World Water Day, President Peña Nieto said he has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “to ensure that through our embassy in Belgium, assistance is provided to any Mexican who so requests in that country.”
