At the official residence of Los Pinos, President Enrique Peña Nieto received the directors of Daimler AG automotive company, led by Chairman of its Board of Directors Dieter Zetsche, who informed him about the start of construction of its new automotive assembly plant in the state of Aguascalientes.

President Peña Nieto congratulated Dieter Zetsche on the upcoming construction of its new Cooperation Manufacturing Plant (COMPAS) in Aguascalientes with an investment of $ 200 million USD, which will create over 3,600 direct jobs.

These facilities will produce two new generation Premium vehicles for the Mercedes Benz and Infiniti brands.

Dieter Zetsche added that from 2020 onwards, the COMPAS plant will have the capacity to produce up to 350,000 vehicles a year. This will make Aguascalientes one of the main automotive production centers.
