With a total investment of 3.45 billion pesos and an average traffic flow of 8,900 vehicles a day, this infrastructure provides security and efficiency, faster travel and better quality service as well as lower vehicle operating costs.

This highway not only improves communication within Guanajuato, it also links the highway corridors of Querétaro-Ciudad Juárez and Mexico City-Nuevo Laredo, with a trunk road to Piedras Negras, contributing to the economic and social development of El Bajío.

The Salamanca-León Highway thereby promotes the automotive industry of El Bajío, by facilitating the connectivity of its providers and the distribution of its production to the United States.
