President Enrique Peña Nieto handed over Deeds and Land Titles for Asset security in the state of Tamaulipas. Over 3,000 families who lacked proof of ownership for years, received the deeds to their homes today.

“It is important because it gives them certainty, because families can have their land, their homes, but when they do not have a document, a piece of paper that legally protects that property, they will never have the peace of mind that, if they die, there will be certainty about who owns that property, that land they live on."

Property Security Benefits

Over 500 title deeds issued by the National Agrarian Registry were handed over, together with 2,500 property deeds and proofs of payment issued by INFONAVIT, FOVISSSTE, the Tamaulipas Institute of Housing and Urbanism (ITAVU) and CORETT.

In total, more than 3,000 property deeds were delivered for the benefit of Tamaulipas families from Aldama, Altamira, Antiguo Morelos, Ciudad Madero, González, Mante, Soto la Marina and Tampico.

In addition, over the next few days, 20,000 property deeds and titles will be delivered in Tamaulipas; and in 2016, over 40,000 will be delivered.

A total of 18,000 plots of land will be regularized in the Villas de Altamira Ejido; thanks to the collaboration between CORETT and the Government of Tamaulipas.
