President Enrique Peña Nieto repeated the government’s firm commitment to working in depth and expanding the Attorney General's investigations to ensure that these facts are properly clarified two years after the unfortunate events in Iguala, Guerrero.

The president stressed his government’s commitment to ensuring that the investigation, “Arrives at the ultimate consequences, determines responsibilities, locates those responsible, including those involved in organized crime, institutions or members of the municipal authorities, municipal police, and all those identified as allegedly responsible for these very unfortunate events,” that led to the disappearance of 43 young students.

“There is no other interest. The government’s sole interest is to determine exactly what happened in Ayotzinapa, in Iguala, with total openness and transparency,” he said.
