• The UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (Mondiacult) will be held in Mexico from September 28-30, 2022

Today, during the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference, the member States unanimously approved holding the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (Mondiacult ) in Mexico from September 28-30, 2022.

The first Mondiacult conference was held 40 years ago in Mexico. Next year, the Unesco culture ministers will review and update the organization's cultural policies to address the needs and challenges of our time.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the profound transformations in technology and communications, climate change and the need to address the challenges faced by the cultural and creative communities will be the main themes of this conference, which will be attended by representatives from culture ministries, non-governmental organizations and civil society, artists and intellectuals.

The Mexican government reaffirms its commitment to the multilateral organizations and to strengthening the development of cultural policies and technological innovation.
