The Mexican government will bestow the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle on White House Senior Adviser, Jared Kushner, for his significant contributions to the negotiation of the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Mr. Kushner played a key role throughout the process, firmly supporting the trade talks between both countries as they unfolded and achieving satisfactory results in the new economic agreement for the three countries.

Mr. Kushner's participation was decisive in beginning the process of renegotiating NAFTA, and in preventing the United States' unilateral exit from the treaty. His constant and effective involvement was key to the successful conclusion of the negotiations. The new USMCA, which will replace NAFTA if approved by the Mexican Senate, gives the national economy an important element of stability, and certainty to millions of Mexican workers whose jobs depend on exporting Mexico's goods and services to the United States and Canada.
