• The Foreign Ministry reports that beginning on June 1 there will be changes to the areas served by Mexico's consulates in New York, Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Boise
  • The new consular map will result in better service for Mexicans in the U.S. and consular services of better quality

As part of the improvements being made to Mexico's consular network as announced by Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard on October 25, 2021, the Foreign Ministry reports that beginning on June 1, the areas served by ten of Mexico's consulates in the United States will be redrawn. These changes are being made in order to provide more efficient consular services, increase the number of appointments available, reduce the distance that Mexicans need to travel for consular services, and strengthen the dialogue with state and local authorities and the Mexican community.

The changes are as follows:

1. All of the counties in the state of Connecticut currently served by the consulate in New York will now be served by the consulate in Boston.
