Regarding Mexico's participation in the second round of informal talks on the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine to be held in Saudi Arabia on August 5-6, the Government of Mexico declares its support for the presentation and peace plans and proposals being advanced with the aim of ending the conflict.
Mexico expresses its commitment to full respect for international law, international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. Mexico supports addressing these issues in the United Nations, with the participation of all parties involved.
Our country continues to follow closely the evolution of the facts and the plans presented, while calling for a ceasefire. It reiterates its willingness to collaborate in peace talks, as demonstrated by the proposal presented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to create a group of countries and international actors that could serve as mediators between the two sides.
