The 41st annual Mexico City LGBTTTI pride march was held today, with the Foreign Ministry joining other groups and organizations and the diplomatic representations of various foreign countries to celebrate the community's achievements and to bring visibility to the problems and discrimination that it still encounters.

The contingent of about 200 people came from many different areas of the Foreign Ministry, and included directors and career diplomats. Members of the Senate marched as well. The group left from the U.S. embassy and joined most of the marchers at the Angel of Independence monument. This is the first time that the Foreign Ministry has taken part in an event in which few government institutions have participated in the past.

To mark the occasion, a rainbow banner was again hung from the Foreign Ministry on Juarez Avenue.

The Foreign Ministry is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, especially those seeking to eliminate all forms of discrimination.  It is a partner in the fight for the rights of the LGBTTTI community, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a progressive and inclusive society in Mexico.
