The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that, beginning January 4, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will resume operations at the following border crossings: Eagle Pass, Texas; San Ysidro in San Diego, California; Lukeville, Arizona; and the Morley Gate pedestrian port of entry in Nogales, Arizona.
In Eagle Pass, Texas, vehicular processing will resume at Eagle Pass International Bridge 1 at 7:00 a.m.; in San Diego, California, San Ysidro's Pedestrian West operations will resume at 6:00 a.m.; in Lukeville, Arizona, the Lukeville Port of Entry operations will resume at 6:00 a.m. and, in Nogales, Arizona, the Morely Gate crossing operations will resume at 10:00 a.m.
The Mexican Foreign Ministry has been in constant communication with CBP authorities at the federal, state and local levels in order to receive timely information and resume commercial operations at these crossings as soon as possible.
The Government of Mexico welcomes the resumption of operations at these border crossings, which will benefit the economies of both countries, a situation that was addressed at the December 27 meeting in Mexico City between President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and a delegation of top U.S. officials led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken; Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas; and White House Homeland Security Advisor Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall.
