On behalf of President Enrique Peña Nieto, Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu will attend the inauguration of Mauricio Macri as president of Argentina this Thursday, December 10.

While in Buenos Aires, the Foreign Secretary will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religion, Susana Malcorra, to discuss the main bilateral issues.

After Argentina, the Foreign Secretary will travel to Cartagena, Colombia for the first meeting of Ibero-American Conference Foreign Ministers to review the work done this year in compliance with the mandates issued during the 24th Ibero-American Summit held in Veracruz on December 8-9, 2014.

In Cartagena, the Foreign Secretary will meet with Colombian Foreign Minister María Ángela Holguín to review the progress made on the commitments agreed to during President Juan Manuel Santos’ State visit to Mexico last May.

This is the Foreign Secretary’s first visit to Argentina and Colombia since taking office on August 27.
