• The President Councilor of the Historical and Cultural Memory of Mexico initiative will also represent the Mexican president at the inauguration of Chile's new president.

Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller will travel to Argentina and Chile from March 9-11 as President Councilor of the Historical and Cultural Memory of Mexico initiative.

On March 9, Dr. Gutiérrez Müller will lead a cultural festival, a 'Reading Fandango,' in Buenos Aires that includes public readings and artistic activities for children and youths. The festival, promoted by Dr. Gutiérrez Müller in various Mexican states, will be presented for the first time outside of our country.

The Fandango will take place at the Mariano Moreno National Library in Buenos Aires, and will be attended by Mexico's ambassador to Argentina, Lilia Rossbach; AMEXCID Executive Director Laura Elena Carrillo; the coordinator of the Presidency's Historical and Cultural Memory of Mexico initiative, Eduardo Villegas; and the Director General of the National Library, Dr. Juan Sasturain.

In Buenos Aires, Dr. Gutiérrez Müller will meet Culture Minister Tristán Bauer to explore opportunities for cultural twinning between Mexico and Argentina.

On March 11, Dr. Gutiérrez Müller will attend the inauguration of Chilean President Gabriel Font on behalf of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.  With its participation, Mexico reaffirms its commitment and desire to continue strengthening its relations with Chile.
