The Mexican government regrets the decision of the Texas government to keep its National Guard on the border, as well as implementation of other measures that only reflect a partial view of the border region.

Mexico will continue its frank and direct dialogue with the U.S. government and the state of Texas from a comprehensive perspective in order to ensure a secure and competitive border that promote prosperity in both countries.

In addition, the Mexican government reiterates that it is committed and fully ready to address the issue of migration from an effective and humane perspective of shared responsibility that ensures peace, development and regional inclusion.

The Foreign Ministry will be alert to ensure that any application of these measures does not affect the rights of its citizens and will provide any necessary consular assistance to the Mexican community in Texas.
