The Government of Mexico regrets the death of Venezuelan Navy Captain Rafael Acosta Arévalo, who died while in the custody of Venezuelan authorities showing apparent signs of torture.
It also reiterates its concern about human rights and due process in Venezuela, and the situation regarding the parliamentary immunity of the members of the National Assembly.
Mexico conveys its condolences and extends its sympathy to the family of Captain Acosta.
