Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard and Michoacan Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla met today in Uruapan with the Association of Avocado Exporting Producers and Packers of Mexico (APEAM), headed by its Director General, Armando López Orduña.

During the meeting, they discussed the Foreign Ministry's promotion of exports and investment; the relationship with the U.S., which is the main importer of Mexican avocados; application of the new USMCA criteria, including labor and environmental issues; and areas of opportunity in the rest of the world.

APEAM is Mexico's largest association of avocado exporters. Its 34,857 growers exported 915,750 tons of avocados to the U.S. from 2021-2022.
