The Undersecretary for North America, Carlos Sada, will take part in a visit of the consular corps in Los Angeles, California to Jalisco from March 15-18.

The visit, organized by the Jalisco state government and the Foreign Ministry's consulate in Los Angeles and led by Carlos García de Alba, aims to promote investment, trade, business, innovation, tourism, art, culture and sports in Jalisco. A delegation of over 70 consuls, business executives, representatives from chambers of commerce and think tanks, and Los Angeles city officials such as Councilmembers Gil Cedillo and Curren Price and the Deputy Mayor of International Affairs, Nina Hachigian, will take part in the visit.

They will meet with Jalisco Governor Aristóteles Sandoval; the State Secretary of Innovation, Science and Technology; Chambers of Industry and Commerce; the Jalisco Consortium for Higher Education Cooperation and Internationalization; and the Director of the Digital Creative City; and will visit Tequila, the Cabañas Hospice and the Degollado Theater. The delegation will also attend the awards and closing ceremonies of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.

With over 100 consulates, the Los Angeles consular corps is the second largest in the world. The consuls general of Afghanistan, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Thailand and United Arab Emirates will be part of the delegation, as will the honorary consuls of Cambodia, Estonia, Guinea, Ireland, Latvia, Morocco, Montenegro and Zambia.

Los Angeles County is one of the world's 20 top economies. It is home to more than 10 million inhabitants, of which about 4 million are of Mexican background.
