Polish President Andrzej Duda will be in Mexico on a State visit from April 22-25 and will meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto.

During the meeting, the two leaders will discuss bilateral issues, explore opportunities to strengthen the relationship between both countries and reaffirm the shared interests of Mexico and Poland at the global level.

Poland sees Mexico as one of five priority markets outside of Europe and as one of the best economies in which to invest. President Duda will be accompanied by a business delegation interested in meeting with Mexican business leaders in order to find and give impetus to new areas of cooperation.

During the State visit, agreements will be signed on trade, investment and exports, and bilateral cooperation projects in education, trade, sports, television, tourism and the aerospace industry will be promoted.

Since the accession of Poland to the European Union in 2004, the economic relationship between both countries has grown steadily and there has been a constant flow of Mexican investment to Poland. In Mexico, there are 55 companies with Polish capital, most of which are located in Mexico City, Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Yucatan, principally in the manufacturing industry, real estate services and the rental of movable property.

The Polish economy is the sixth largest in the European Union and ranks 25th globally. Bilateral trade has increased nearly tenfold between 2004 and 2016, going from USD 109 million to USD 1.04 billion.
