1. Mexico reiterates its emphatic support for the Paris Agreement and will continue to implement both the goals of its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) and its National Climate Change Strategy.

 2. Global climate change is an incontrovertible fact that is based on scientific evidence. Counteracting it requires the cooperation of all countries, under the principle of shared but different responsibilities.

 3. The Paris Agreement includes specific commitments from all countries to address climate change and global warming. It is an agreement that was negotiated over the course of five years. It is one of the great successes of multilateral cooperation in this century. The treaty was ratified by most countries, including the major emitters, in record time, reflecting a common desire for urgent action to achieve the goal they had set, which is to limit global warming from exceeding 1.5 degrees Centigrade.

 4. The Paris Agreement is one of the most important pillars of a more stable, prosperous, just and sustainable world. The only way to respond to the challenge of global warming is through concerted global action under this agreement.  It is essential to keep the entire international community united in the face of this problem.

 5. Mexico distinguished itself as one of the main leaders of the Paris Agreement negotiations. We will continue to wholeheartedly promote international cooperation so that the agreement can be fully implemented.

 6. Remaining committed to the agreement is not only what society demands of us but it is also the key for moving towards a more sustainable, competitive and resilient economy.

 7. Taking action to curb climate change is a moral imperative that we owe to future generations. It is a social necessity, because it responds to the immediate interests of our societies, is economically viable and encourages new technologies that boost the development and well-being of our countries.
