A group of over 80 Mexicans living abroad, all members of the Mexican Global Network (MX Global Network), will attend the group's third annual meeting  “Promoting the Competitiveness of Mexican Talent” to be held from December 13-15 in Pachuca, Hidalgo.

The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen the ties between Mexico and its citizens abroad through the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME). Currently, the Mexican Global Network has 6,500 members in 57 chapters in 28 countries.  In addition, there are 10 "nodes" or groups In Mexico that function as national partners of the network's chapters abroad in implementing projects within Mexico.

Thanks to this cooperation, the network currently has 180 ongoing projects around the world that are contributing to Mexico's development in the following areas: science and technology; entrepreneurship; social innovation; creative industries; education and developing talent.

Mexico ranks first in Latin America and sixth in the world in its rate of highly-skilled emigration. Therefore, the Mexican government gives priority to developing programs that create permanent ties with its citizens abroad in order to share knowledge and fight old prejudices that see emigrants as a permanent loss for the countries they leave behind.

Hidalgo Governor Omar Fayad Meneses is assisting with the meeting and will participate in it.
