María Fernanda Casanueva de Diego graduated with a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer of the Foreign Ministry.

She has more than 28 years of experience in the public sector. Her career in the federal government includes positions as Chief Administrative Officer of the Ministries of Finance and Public Credit; Communications and Transport; and Energy; Assistant Secretary of Administration, Budget and Systems, and of Asset Recovery at the Institute for the Protection of Bank Savings (IPAB) and Director General of the National Savings and Financial Services Bank (Bansefi). In the private sector, she has been the head of BMV-Education, the Business School of the Mexican Stock Exchange.
