The Interior and Foreign Ministries naturalized 100 people from various countries who voluntarily requested citizenship and met the requirements established under Mexican law.

The event was led by Interior Secretary Olga Sánchez Cordero, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, National Migration Institute Commissioner Francisco Garduño, and José Antonio Domínguez, head of the Foreign Ministry Finance Unit.

During the naturalization ceremony in the Foreign Ministry, Secretary Sánchez Cordero read the Charter of Principles and Values to the new citizens and their families, who come from 17 different countries.

Lastly, Secretary Ebrard administered the oath of allegiance and congratulated the new Mexicans. This was followed by the National Anthem and two musical pieces sung by opera singer Filippa Giordano, a naturalized Mexican, who was accompanied by the Navy Band Symphony Orchestra.

Mexico reiterates its commitment to respect and fight for human rights and, in particular, for the rights of migrants who choose to establish themselves in our country.
