The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the opening of a new delegation in Coyoacán, Mexico City. The office will open on Wednesday, March 3, becoming the 47th delegation in Mexico.

The Coyoacán passport office is located at Miguel Ángel de Quevedo number 1144, Parque San Andrés Coyoacán, and will be open seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It will be able to accept up to 2,880 daily appointments, which means that an annual average of over one million passports can be issued. However, due to the current health emergency, the office will open at 30% capacity, in strict adherence to both federal and Mexico City public health regulations.

The building housing the delegation has an area of 1,520 square meters with a large waiting area that can comfortably seat up to 380 people. There are also areas with games for children and for breastfeeding mothers. It is accessible for individuals with disabilities and the elderly, and  has counters that can accommodate them.

The building has modern, well lit transaction windows with glass dividers between the delegation employees and the general public in order to provide more safety for both.  It has screens that display information about the passport process, in addition to the programs and services offered by the Foreign Ministry.  It also has a video surveillance system to ensure the safety of everyone there, the building, and the integrity of the process at all times.

The delegation is accessible by public transport or by car. It has 1,500 parking spaces and a public bathroom.

Passport appointments can be made online for the Coyoacan delegation beginning on March 1 at: https://citas.sre.gob.mx. This is the only official webpage for appointments and it is completely free to use.

Appointments can also be made by calling the Contact Center at 800 801 0773, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The public is reminded to be alert to scams. No payments or deposits for passport-related appointments should be made to personal accounts or in convenience stores.
