In San Luis Potosí, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard and Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona signed a memorandum of understanding with BMW Mexico and discussed the transition of the country's automotive industry towards electromobility.
The Foreign Secretary then accompanied President López Obrador and BMW executives, with Governor Ricardo Gallardo, at the announcement of the investment by BMW in its plant in San Luis Potosí.
Of note:
- An investment of 800 million euros
- Mexico as the leading country in Latin America in the production of batteries and electric vehicles for BMW
- The creation of more than 1,000 new jobs
- The use of renewable energy in the manufacturing process
- Increased labor productivity
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard and BMW executives toured the BMW plant in San Luis Potosí.
