The aim of the State Visit to
Denmark is to give continuity to the strategy of forging closer
ties with the Nordic countries, which prioritize innovation, health, clean energy,
bioengineering, education and information and communications
technology. Various agreements will be signed to strengthen the legal
framework in education, energy, health and trade.
President Peña Nieto will meet with the
Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Pia Kjærsgaard; Prime Minister Lars Løkke
Rasmussen; and Danish business executives; and attend a dinner in his honor
offered by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness the Prince
Consort Henrik.
The bilateral relationship between Mexico and Denmark has traditionally been cordial and marked by a mutual understanding. In recent years, it has been strengthened by a political high-level dialogue that is marked by areas of agreement on issues such as development aid, environmental protection, disarmament and arms control, nuclear non-proliferation and human rights.
