President Enrique Peña Nieto made his last State visit in the Middle East to Qatar, a country known for having the world's highest per capita income: USD 143,000.
The Mexico-Qatar Business Forum was held and attended by the official delegations of both countries. The president highlighted the fact that Mexico has opened the telecommunications and energy sectors to the private sector. He also mentioned that Mexico enjoys economic stability and has a sound financial system. It’s public finances are healthy, and this can be seen in its average annual growth rate of 3.3% over the last five years.

While in Qatar, President Peña Nieto and Mexico’s official delegation attended a welcome ceremony offered by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
