The theme of Earth Day 2016 (#DíadelaTierra) is Trees for the Earth.

The goal over the next five years is to plant about 7.8 million trees to reduce global warming, combat climate change and create biological corridors to preserve biodiversity and counteract species loss.

Enter the photo contest using the hashtag #MadreTierraSRE and show us how you commemorate Earth Day. There is no limit to the number of photos you can tag, and you can tag new photos or ones you have already taken.

You have until Thursday, April 28 at 11:59 pm to tag your photos. We will choose and publish 10 finalists on our Instagram account so that you can vote for your favorite photos from Friday, April 29 to Thursday May 5 at 11:59 pm.

Please don’t ask for likes, so that the best photos win.

The four photos with the most likes will be posted on the gob.mx/sre blog and on our twitter.com/sre_mx and facebook.com/SREMX accounts.
