Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu and the Mexican diplomatic delegation that accompanied her in Washington, D.C., ended their trip with a bilateral meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

They discussed the need to keep working to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of human capital in order to make the North American region more competitive. They also agreed it was important to hold the trilateral North American Foreign Ministers’ meeting in early 2016.

Other topics addressed included climate change, migration and the fight against the drug problem, among other issues on which Mexico and the United States shared priorities and values.
