Foreign Secretary Ruiz Massieu traveled to Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark to prepare for President Enrique Peña Nieto’s upcoming State visits to these countries.

In Copenhagen, she met first with Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen to discuss issues of mutual interest, such as the current state of the bilateral relationship, bilateral trade and investment, and cooperation.

Denmark and Mexico established diplomatic relations on July 19, 1827. Their bilateral relationship is characterized by increasingly strong political, economic and cooperation ties. Denmark is Mexico’s 48th largest trading partner and its 16th most important source of investment, worldwide.

The favorable business climate in Mexico has led to increased investment from Denmark, with over 200 Danish companies in Mexico.
