This afternoon, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard appeared before the Senate to present the foreign policy aspects of the fourth annual government report. He received a cordial reception from senators of the various political parties. 

He highlighted some of Mexico's foreign policy projects and achievements, such as:

• A new lawsuit against U.S. gun companies, to continue seeking safety for Mexican families. 
• Support for the acquisition of the Deer Park refinery, for purposes of our energy security.
• Mexico is the main trading partner of the U.S.
• The Qatar 2022 Mexico Center has opened to assist Mexicans traveling to the World Cup games 
• The positive results in Central America of the Youths Building the Future and Sowing Life cooperation projects.
• Strengthening the Latin American and Caribbean region through CELAC.
• We will expand our presence in Eurasia and Africa in order to play a bigger role in the world. 

The Foreign Secretary also said, “We have defended Mexico’s feminist foreign policy. We are one of five of the most active countries in the world in this area and we will continue to uphold our position and our activism.”
