By putting gender equality at the heart of Mexico's foreign policy, we can ensure that both men and women take part in eliminating the causes of inequality that result in discrimination around the world.
The series of videos “Concepts for #IgualdadGlobal" (Concepts for Global Equality) are meant to highlight the issue and help increase understanding about the gender perspective.
Our first video is about gender stereotypes, roles that are nothing more than forms of discrimination because they create differences, restrictions and exclusions for individuals based on their sex.
Some gender stereotypes:
- Women should stay home and care for the children, since they are more tender and loving “by nature."
- Men don’t cry because they are strong, not sensitive.
